| With CPL Winter 2004 starting next week CPL tonight officially releases information about the next years event. The Summer Championships will take place Wednesday, July 6 to Sunday, July 10, 2005 at the great resort with the funny name; Gaylord Texan Resort, in Grapevine, Texas. CPL also announces that over $200,000 in cash prizes will be offered in the different tournaments.
In addition to hosting the USA's only Official Stop of the $1,000,000 CPL World Tour, featuring Painkiller, the Summer Championships will also host official competitions for Counter-Strike Source, Day of Defeat (CPL continuous its support for this mod) and WarCraft III.
Hopefully Valve will soon release bug fixes to some of the issues in Counter-Strike Source. Its most likely that both World Cyber Games and ESWC will shortly announce that they will also use Counter-Strike Source for their counter-strike tournaments. On the other hand they could also announce 1.6 and decide to change once they feel Counter-Strike Source is optimized.
